BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Business Person of the Year Award is given to a Black Chamber of Commerce of Orange County business member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership in their business field and also in the African American minority community.

 

Cedric Ferrell is serious about the business of franchising. As an accomplished multi-unit franchisee for The Entrepreneur's Source, America’s leading business ownership consulting organization, he has served as an Ambassador assisting other franchisees to grow and develop their businesses. He recently acquired the rights to another franchise concept, AIM Mail Centers, which provides multiple business services. He has also established himself as a speaker, author, and community servant.

TES offers a full-range of services to individuals seeking alternate career options and to small-to-medium size companies looking to increase performance. The goal of the Entrepreneur’s Source is to partner with both individuals and companies to achieve their desired outcome. Over the past four years Cedric’s Entrepreneur’s Source practice has helped more than 75 people realize the dream of owning their own business. This has lead to hundreds of jobs in Southern California and around the country. Ferrell has more than 20 years experience in management and business development. Prior to joining The Entrepreneur's Source, he served as the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Towne AllPoints Communications, Inc., a Santa Ana based national direct marketing firm. He also held management positions around the country with Fortune 500 companies such as Masterfoods, PepsiCo, and Pillsbury.

A sought after public speaker on the topics including choosing the right business, franchising and small business obstacles, Mr. Ferrell has spoken to national groups including the National Black MBA Association and the United States Postal Forum. He has been a speaker for the Orange County Harvard Business School Alumni association, UCLA Alumni Association and for multiple businesses. He also contributes to national and local business journals. Ferrell has been a recent guest on KFWB, and KJLH radio stations.

Cedric Ferrell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Business; A Master of Business degree from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.

Ferrell maintains an active involvement in community service. The State of California Assembly and the City of Inglewood recently recognized him for his contributions to the City of Inglewood’s Franchise Institute. The Franchise Institute was created to develop a forum for people in the community to discover business and lending vehicles to achieve entrepreneurship. He is also a frequent guest panelist for the College of Business and Economics at Cal State Fullerton. This year he helped found Orange County’s Black Business Network, which was developed to create a forum for local black business owners to refer business, network and mentor each other.

He is also active in the church community as a board member for the Lutheran Church Missouri – Synod Pacific Southwest District’s Church Extension Fund, and also as a Deacon for his Church St. Paul Lutheran, Los Angeles.

Ferrell is a 13 year resident of Anaheim Hills where he and his wife Lesli, Director of Marketing for Aramark Sports and Entertainment have two children who enjoy playing sports and participating in community activities.
